Alanna Klein, an industry veteran with stints at Gap, Old Navy and Macy’s Kids, opened Pumpkin in September of 2003. Her goal was to provide a home for San Francisco parents looking to find unique clothing for their little ones.
After four years of growing the business and watching her customers mature from children to teens, she decided to expand the company and change the name to reflect the needs of her customers. In the summer of 2007 a new era began. The famous San Francisco based Pumpkin ‘Hip Clothes For Cool Babes’ became ‘Honeys and Heroes, Gear for Babies, Girls & Boys’.

Honeys and Heroes specializes in carrying the most fashionable brands for babies, kids, and tweens such as Diesel, James Perse, Kingsley, Ella Moss, Splendid, Ed Hardy, Vans, Miss Sixty, Seven for all Mankind, Butterfly Dropout, Tea Collection, Billabong, Lemon, C&C, and private label 100% Honey and 100% Hero.
“In Style” magazine, “The San Francisco Chronicle”, “7X7”, “Marin Magazine “, and “Town and Country” are just a few of the publications that have featured Honeys and Heroes fun and fabulous fashions. Honeys and Heroes was also recognized as the back-to-school fashion authority on the talk show “View from the Bay” when in August of 2007 they played host to the TV show’s back-to-school fashion show.
